Scott Harper

Harper has more than 24 years of nonprofit experience, with 16 of those with the YMCA in Tampa and Houston, according to a news release from the chamber. After his graduation from the University of Southern Mississippi, Harper started his professional career with the corporate fitness center of Wal-Mart.

Harper was hired in January 2012 to serve as the Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce president.

During his time a president, he was instrumental in assembling a strong staff team and group of dedicated volunteers to help stabilize the budget, build the membership base and grow the community’s overall awareness of the chamber. These efforts led to the chamber becoming accredited by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

In January 2016, Harper decided to return to his YMCA career, and he was hired as a major gifts officer to help local YMCAs with their annual campaign and other fundraising opportunities in and around Montgomery County. Scott was later promoted to vice president of major gifts.

Harper returned to the President position of Conroe/Lake Conroe Chamber of Commerce in 2021.
